1. Reason for the Change
The Company has, since its inception, expanded its business, mainly the internal combustion engine-related business such as spark plugs. Meanwhile, as outlined in the "2030 Long-Term Management Plan NITTOKU BX" formulated in 2020, the Company focuses on four business domains of Environment & Energy, Mobility, Medical and Communication, and aims to realize business portfolio transformation. Following this, the Company proposes to change its English company name "NGK SPARK PLUG CO., LTD." incorporating the brand name of spark plugs, for future business expansion.

2. New English Company Name
Niterra Co., Ltd.
"Niterra" is a coined word, combining the Latin words "niteo" meaning "shine" and "terra" meaning "the planet earth." It expresses the Group's desire and stance to be a company that not only contributes to a sustainable society but also makes the entire global environment brighter.

3. Effective Date
April 1, 2023
